An Intro To Luna's House

I am currently volunteering at the animal rescue "Luna's House", where my two masters, Marconi and Ozzy, recently were adopted from. You'll be hearing lots more about Luna's House on this blog, so here's a quick intro to what Luna's House is:

Luna's House; There's a place on this earth for every animal

Everyone Deserves a Happy Home

Luna’s House, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bettering the lives of animals and their people. Luna’s House thrives on working with individuals and other organizations in the local and regional community to promote widespread humane education and respect for animals.

Luna’s House (LH) has existed as a network of foster homes since its incorporation as a nonprofit in November 2006. As of September 2010, over 1,300 animals have been placed with their forever families through Luna’s House. Thus, LH has averaged approximately 450 adoptions a year...that’s 450 companion animals, as well as 450 adoptive homes, that have been served annually via direct adoption services. LH also assists animal guardians with education on the proper care of their pets, veterinary references, behavioral modification suggestions, and many other resources that improve the life of both the animals and the humans involved.

Luna’s House routinely works with cats; various small mammals including rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas; reptiles; and birds. Full-scale dog and ferret adoption programs will be in place upon the completion of the LH central facility. LH accommodates direct surrenders from animal guardians on a case-by-case basis and is always working with local shelters to take in animals that may otherwise not get the second chance at a happy home they so deserve.
